Have we forgotten?

Have we forgotten what compassion, manners, patience and respect are? As a society?
Everyday I see and meet so many people. Some have not forgotten that a little kindness and human connection goes a long way, other days I meet those who need instant gratification. Who complain and whine over the simplest of things.
They can't remember what it's like to be kind and have patience.
I've watched parents not care about their kids being little twats to other people, or throw trash wherever... Growing up if I did even a minuscule act mirroring any sort of behavior like that my parents would've knocked the freckles off my face! My kids don't even dare try to be little jerks because they know Mom and Dad will not tolerate that behavior to others. You wanna be a hellion, do it at home.
What are we doing as a society for our future? We are so focused on here and now, on swiping left or right and making sure we are right that we have forgotten we are not always right, that other people have valid opinions too even if they don't match yours and above all..... We have forgotten to love our fellow kind. We seem to forget in order for some to be comfortable others suffer to carry us into comfort.
If you haven't worked in customer service or some menial job scrubbing and cleaning or back breaking manual labor chances are you are one of the ones who've been carried through life, be it from stepping on others backs and not caring or being handed birth lottery.
Stop before you open your entitled mouth when you think the person serving your food is uneducated, and hey even if they are, what gives you the right to treat them like a second class citizen or worse.
We should be lifting ourselves up. Not beating each other down.
